Hello, I'm Arunita.
I am a science grad and an aspiring science journalist, based in India. My field of research includes behavioural ecology of Indian free-ranging dogs and I recently submitted my PhD thesis. I am passionate about communicating science through the written word and other multimedia platforms. I intend to build a career in science journalism, with emphasis on the science and society paradigm, enabling public engagement and influencing policy changes. I co-founded the science communication platform of IISER Kolkata and I am the current chief editor. I have about 2.5 years of experience in science writing for various web-based outlets - bylines at Research Matters, IndiaBioscience, TheLifeOfScience.com, Live Wire, Cogito137, Mongabay India and The Weather Channel.
I have a varied range of interests including art, music, films, photography and travel.
